Welcome to Brighton U12s Buccaneers

The Brighton U12 Buccaneers are a thriving youth rugby squad built on fun, inclusivity, and a strong sense of team spirit. Since starting as a small U8s group of just 10 players, the Buccaneers have grown into a squad of over 30 while keeping their welcoming, supportive ethos at the heart of everything they do.

Each season, players commit to a shared set of values through a team contract, guiding behaviour both on and off the pitch. These principles shape everything—from how teammates support one another to the way Player of the Week and Player of the Season are chosen.

The Buccaneers place enjoyment above all else, encouraging trial sessions with no pressure to commit until a player truly wants to be part of the team. When they’re bursting to get to training, the coaches know they’re ready.

With a balanced mix of indoor skills work, outdoor contact training, and match-focused Sunday sessions, the Buccaneers develop not just rugby skills, but camaraderie, resilience, and a love for the game.

Training Times and Locations
• Tuesday 19:00–20:00 (Starting 30th September 2026)
Indoor sessions at the gymnasium, King’s School, Hove. These are non-contact sessions—no gumshields needed, but please wear generic sports kit and trainers.

• Thursday 17:45–18:45
Outdoor training on the all-weather pitch at Waterhall. Space is limited as all youth age groups train simultaneously. This session will focus on contact skills such as tackling, rucking, and mauling. Please wear boots and bring a gumshield.

• Sunday 09:30–11:00
When no matches are scheduled, we’ll train on the grass at Waterhall. These sessions focus on team plays, game scenarios, and inter-squad matches. Boots and gumshields are required.
