After a successful weekend at Lewes, the team travelled to Shoreham to play their second match under the O2 touch rules.
On the anniversary of the cancelled 2020 tour, the team marked the occasion by playing in the “tour that didn’t tour” shirts rather than our usual kit.
Inspired by the success from last week the team got off to a good start scoring first, and leading the first quarter 3 - 2. The coaches rotated all players as we took 21 players this enabled us to ensure a true team effort. As confidence grew, defensive lines stayed strong. In attack the ball started flowing through everyone’s hands the team stretched away in quarter 2 not allowing Shoreham to score but Brighton scored 3 more tries 6-3 Brighton .
With a selection of tries, including a debut try for Noah , a hat-trick from Angus (1st game back from injury) an intercepted pass for Jonah a couple of breakaways and a well worked team try leading to an impressive front row swallow dive that Chris Ashton would be proud of in the dying seconds of the game by Theo.
By the end of the 4th quarter every player had been instrumental in a One Team victory of 10 - 3 being the final score
Thanks to Shoreham for hosting, our travelling supporters, our inspirational Coaching Team and of course all the players. This was a team victory in every sense of the words.
The 2020 tour kit can now be retired – Undefeated !!
