Following a last minute request for assistance, Brighton successfully put on the Colts Cup Final on Sunday 15 May.

The Mike Richardson Trophy, the official name for the Colts Cup in Sussex is named after long term servant of the game, Mike Richardson, from Hove RFC, who sadly passed away this season.

Due to a delay to the originally published date, Brighton were asked to host the final at short notice. Despite the regular season having ended and the club moving to support our summer sports (on Sunday we were hosting a baseball game, the Merlins League side and our new U6 rugby league set up) - and the pitch being marked as a gridiron for the American Football the week before, the Blues were able to host the finale of the Colts season.

Worthing and Chichester battled it out in front of a decent crowd - maybe 300 at a quick count - in the sun.

A lovely day all round - and thanks to the Blues support staff for stepping up and putting on such a great day for rugby in Sussex.
